This body style section is the most in-depth program for customized body style analysis. No previous style training is needed, but this course is also excellent for consultants familiar with other style systems. As a graduate of this course you are eligible to participate in the TAIC computerized style system.

*All students will receive a personal body style analysis and computerized style book.

Learning Outcomes for Body Style, Closet, Wardrobing & Personal Shopping:

  1. Discuss the principles of art and design and how they relate to the human body.
  2. Learn the different body shapes for men and women.
  3. Determine a person’s body proportions.
  4. Correctly measure and record a client’s body measurements for a style analysis.
  5. Identify a client’s face shape and prominent features.
  6. Learn the appropriate shapes, lengths and styles of clothing that a client should wear.
  7. Select appropriate hairstyles, eyeglasses and other accessories that the individual can wear.
  8. Describe the visual lines created by different clothing styles and patterns.
  9. Assess the client’s lifestyle and relate it to their clothing needs.
  10. Visualize the image that the client wants to convey through their clothing.
  11. Plan your consultation to complete the client’s wardrobe needs.
  12. Evaluate the client’s closet organization.
  13. Select clothing for elimination from the client’s closet.
  14. Organize clothing items in the client’s closet.
  15. Learn to talk with the client and help them rid their emotional attachment to their clothing.
  16. Determine a budget.
  17. Create a shopping list.
  18. Select appropriate clothing for the client’s coloring, body shape and personal style.
  19. Quickly find clothing items that mix and match to create a cluster for the client’s wardrobe.
  20. Complete outfits with accessories.
  21. Teach a client the importance of tailoring clothing to fit.
  22. Integrate new purchases with existing garments in the closet to create new outfits.
To earn CEU’s for this course students must complete:
  • Their own body style computerized program
  • Evaluating a wardrobe and creating outfits in a client’s closet
  • Shopping for a client’s wardrobe
